"Screw Driver" [Snippet]
feat. Hannah Ford + Donna Grantis

"Screw Driver" is an unreleased track assumed to have been recorded in late 2012.
On 17 December, 2012, video rehearsal snippet of the song was streamed on Hannah Ford's Facebook Page with the message: A Taste of Rehearsal. The video includes new guitarist Donna Grantis, and ends with a text screen stating: "C the rest of Donna's audition holla at ya girl! We've got bootlegs 4 daazzzzzze every good thing in the vault... Coming 2013".
A 29-second snippet of the studio version of the song followed the same day on YouTube, with an image showing lyrics from the song, again with the text "Coming 2013".

"Extraloveable" (Remix) [4:18]

On 10/06/2012 a 4:18 audio instrumental version of "Extraloveable" was streamed on Andy Allo's Facebook Page with the following message: xtralovable remix.. leak, don't even care if i get in trouble.. enjoy!

"Lust U always" [5:14]
"American in Paris" [5:25]
"Our destiny" [2:59]
"Vicki Waiting (Ext. Remix)" [
7:16]

Some old Prince outtakes have leaked in the last weeks in May/June. A vocal (!)  version of "Lust U
Always"
(1982), "American In Paris" (1989), "Our Destiny" (1984) with Lisa
Coleman on lead vocals, and an extended remix of "Vicki Waiting" from the Batman
soundtrack that adds some funky rhythm guitar.

Supposedly these are all coming from a new bootleg of new and upgraded classic-era
outtakes collction called "Connections" in the near future.

"Superconductor"
"The Calm"
"Gone"

by Andy Allo:

www.alloevolution.com

Prince (co)wrote 3 songs for Andy Allo's 4thcoming 2nd album "Superconductor" (set September 2012):

-
"Superconductor" (A 15-second snippet of the song without lyrics, other than the title spoken once was used in a video on Andy Allo's Facebook page)

* ..."where is she talking bout needing one, and you have to feel that on her search, she is going to find one. We are told that Michael Bland plays drums on this track. There is a lot going on with this song, and Andy is able to keep the groove going. A lot is going on and it is working. It doesn't sound old, it stands out and it is fresh..."

- "Gone"

*..."which I am told was inspired by an old James Taylor and Carol King special. It just features Andy on vocals and guitar and it is stunning and as Andy put it, "Raw" and wanted to keep it that way even though her friend was really wanting to add strings to the song. It is quite good the way it is. I would have liked to have heard strings but it really doesn't need it..."

"The dance electric (Ext. Version)"
[11:48]

by Andre Cymone

Late March 2012 saw the "leak" of the extended version of Andre Cymone's "The Dance Electric" - written by Prince - and a few days ago saw the release of Prince & the current line-up of The NPG's rehearsal for the Oz Tour version of the song.

This extended version is still unreleased and NOT included on the re-release of Andy Cymone's album "AC" (from 2011)!

2011

"Extraloveable" (Remake 2011)

[5:01]

Taken from: http://www.princevault.com/index.php/Extra_Lovable

"Extraloveable was first released on the stand-alone digital single Extraloveable in 2011, to promote the Welcome 2 Canada Tour beginning two days later. While the recording was new, the track itself was 29 years old.
The original track was recorded on 3 April, 1982 at Sunset Sound, Hollywood, CA, USA (two days after re-recording Wouldn't You Love To Love Me? and two days before 3 x 2 = 6). The song was considered for inclusion on Vanity 6, but it is not known if a version with vocals by Vanity 6 was recorded. It is possible that the track was worked on further in 1983, as some of the lyrics could be interpreted as referring to Dez Dickerson's departure from the band and Wendy Melvoin's arrival.
In 1988, engineer Chuck Zwicky pulled the track out from the vault and remixed it, telling Prince it should be released. During Prince: A Celebration in June, 2000, computer screens at Paisley Park Studios offered names of a selection of tracks which users could vote on for inclusion on Crystal Ball Volume II, and while the track (now known as Xtralovable) was chosen by fans, the project was ultimately abandoned. It is not known whether this version was the same as an earlier version, or an alternate recording.
On 4 March, 2011, the website drfunkenberry.com reported that Prince was "about to unleash" a "25 minute live version" of Extraloveable (written as Extra Loveable), but nothing is currently known about this version (Extraloveable had at that point never been played live, so this may be a live in-studio recording), or how it was planned for release. The version eventually released was a studio version, likely recorded later in 2011, featuring a rap by Andy Allo (who first started performing with Prince in May, 2011); the track was likely recorded at Paisley Park Studios, although this is unconfirmed.
Prince stated in a radio interview with Toronto radio station 104.5 CHUM FM (also released as a podcast) that he had three versions of Extraloveable, and that they would all eventually be released; he also stated in the interview, however, that the released version was the 1982 recording with some minor tweaks, while it in fact appears to be an entirely new recording."

"When she comes" [Live 8:38]

(tentative title)

Prince played a new song, "When she comes" (tentative title), live on in the 11 May 2011 LA Troubadour show. Here are some lyrics:

When she comes / She never closes her eyes / Leaves no doubt
and each time I dig her eye we realize that she’s hypnotized
When she comes / There’s no place she’d rather be
Than therein to please / In my warm embrace
when she’s next to me she’s in ecstasy…. She cries….

"U will be with me"

Prince performed the new song "U will be with me" live at the Forum on May 5 und May 7, 2011. The song recalls "Tell Me How U Want 2 B Done"  and "Shhh!". Here are some of the lyrics: "I know u’ve got somebody / I think that’s cool / But there sho enuff ain’t no law against me trying to pursue / I picture the outcome, his income versus mine / The way I see it, baby, it’s only a matter of time / U will be... u will be... u will be with me"!.

"4 lust"
(Jill Jones feat. Prince)

The Prince / Jill Jones collaboration "4 lust" (or "For lust") appeared finally on the net (April 27, 2011). This catchy duet seems to be more a demo and unfinished, but sound fresh and it's nice to hear the vocals by Prince and Jill Jones after all the years.
This early version of "4 lust" should be from 1983-85, but the track was also later reworked in 1987/89 and intended for Jill Jones' withdrawn second album.

"Take me 2 your leader" [5:01]

(Dale Bozzio)
"Take Me To Your Leader" (released only as "Take Me To Your Leader (Prince Mix)") is the 13th track on Dale Bozzio's third solo studio album "Make Love Not War" (2010). The song is co-written by Bozzio and Prince, but no musician or producer credits are given.
While specific recording dates are not known, initial tracking is likely to have taken place in 1991, as suggested by a press release promoting the album. The press release mentions the track was "co-written by Prince by way of telephone and express mail". The released version is credited as a Prince Mix, suggesting he remixed the track. "Rich friends" [5:25]

The brand nu Prince tune "Rich friends" war aired since early October on Radio stations like Europe 1 (France) and 103.5 KTU - The Beat of New York. Dr. Funkenberry's reported and offered a prelisten on October 14, 2010. The songs is rumoured to be on the so called Deluxe Edition of "20TEN".

"Leader of the band"

(Sheile E.)

"Leader Of The Band" is the first track on an EP sold by Sheila E. at the merchandise stand of two shows she performed at Yoshi's, San Francisco, CA, USA, on 15 August, 2010. The song is written by Prince (uncredited, but confirmed by Sheila E.), and he appears on piano according to the song's introduction, where he is called by name. It is unknown if a wider release is planned.
While specific recording dates are not known, initial tracking is likely to have taken place in 2007 or early 2008 (studio information is unknown). The track was intended for an album by The Escovedo Family, but the album remains unreleased.

"Star (Sweet Dreams)"*
"Back in the Day"*
"Waiting"*

"Stand up and b strong"**

Nu tunes mentioned in Prince articles of the Rolling Stone* (German Edition, August 2010, page 45) and Ebony** magazine.

"Star (Sweet Dreams)", "Back in the Day", "Waiting" were titles seen as notes on the mixing desk of Studio B (Paisley Park).

"...and the artist played us the song "Stand up and b strong", an anthem devoted to reminding folks to tough it out during hard times, a perfect message for now." [Ebony July 2010, Page 90]

"Hot summer" [3:31] Prince kicked off his birthday by giving a new track called "Hot summer" to Minnesota Public Radio station 89.3 The Current. The song recalls "Everybody Get on Up" (co-written/revamped by Prince/released by Carmen Electra in 1992), Prince's "Peach" and "Shake!"

By Steven Anthony (from Antiquit, June 7, 2010):
"It’s a carefree summer track, certainly no Prince masterpiece, but decent enough to warrant a few playbacks from fans. It isn’t going to win over any new fans, that’s for sure. The staccato organ hits sound a lot like another Prince penned-track, Shake!, which was released by The Time back on the Graffiti Bridge soundtrack in 1990. The backing female vocalist is kind of irritating, and the track really goes nowhere lyrically. It is just an ode to having a hot summer though, so it’s not like it has any ulterior motives. As far as Prince “summer” tracks go, it gets the job done."

"Cause and Effect" [4:59]

On February 26, 2010 at 7:00 am the Twin Cities public radio station 89.3 The Current debuted a new and characteristically batshit Prince song called "Cause and Effect". It features screaming guitar solos, acoustic interludes, rumbling rockabilly riffs, fake crowd noise, and Flea-esque slap-bass, all of which is crammed into about five minutes. The track is now streaming on their website: 89.3 The Current
"Purple and Gold" [5:34] "Purple and Gold" was made available to stream on www.vikings.com from January 21, 2010 as a "fight"-song to support the Minnesota Vikings (football team) in the NFL playoffs. The song is a simple, drumline-driven track with inspirational lyrics about victory. The following month, Prince let Minneapolis-area public radio station 89.3 The Current premiere another new song "Cause and Effect" as a gesture in support of independent radio.

U can still listen to "Purple and Gold" here.

2009

"In a large room with no light" [5:34] On July 14, 2009, Jazz FM had the exclusive premiere (UK airing of a short sample) of the new Prince track "In a large room with no light" on Gary King’s ‘Jazz Glide Home’ show. Prince completed the track two days ago in the run up to the Montreux Jazz Festival where he will be playing two new shows on the 18th July to close the event. One day later, the full version was streamed on the official Montreux Jazz Festival web.

The song is a well known unreleased tune from 1986.

"Disco Jellyfish" [3:53]
(Instrumental)
On 02/01/2009 the trax "Another boy" (4:07) by Bria Valente (see under 2008), "Disco Jellyfish" (a kind of remix or instrumental of "Chocolate Box") and "Colonized Mind" appeared in full versions and high quality on Prince's new web www.lotusflow3r.com. "Disco Jellyfish" is a space-fonky playful tune, somewhere between "Hello" (B-Side) and "Shortberry Strawcake" (by Sheila E.). B prepared 4 the relaunch!

"Chocolate box"

"All this love"
by Bria Valente

On 01/16/2009 samples of the songs "Chocolate box", "A colonized mind" and "All this love" (by Bria Valente) appeared on Prince's web www.lotusflow3r.com. "Chocolate box" is a track from Prince's 4thcoming album "MPLSound" - "All this love" is set for Bria Valente's album. "Colonized mind" (from "Lotusflower") was played in full on the radio show L.A.’s Indie 103 (see under 2008).

"(There'll never B) Another like me" [6:06]

"(There'll never B) Another like me" (Instrumental Clip) [2:48]

A short instrumental clip of "(There’ll Never B) Another Like Me" was circulating in mid-December 2008. Some people declare the short sample as fake, made from samples to sound like a Prince tune.
Finally the full version with Prince on vocals (!)
appeared on the 'mysterious' website www.mplsound.com (on 12/18/2008 - meanwhile the page turned to black with no content). This web has nothing to do with The Minneapolis Sound (www.mpls-sound.com) or the album MPLSOUND (from 2006) by ENS (who creates Prince-like instrumental music based on samples/instruments, arrangements and song titles, worth a listen!).

The track seems to be recorded around 2000 / 2001 - like many songs from Prince "The Chocolate Invasion" or "The Slaughterhouse" and is in sound and production not to far away from "Hpno paradise", "High" or "Silicon".

"Lotus flower" (Instr./Intro)

 "Crimson and Clover [3:47]

 "4ever" [3:52]

 "Colonized Mind" [4:52]

"Wall of Berlin" [4:13]

Four fantastic NEW STUDIO recordings by Prince were premiered on December 18, 2008 on the Radio Show L.A.’s Indie 103 (www.indie1031.fm) by ex-Sex Pistols' Steve Jones on Jonesy`s Jukebox.
On the same day a fifth song "(There'll never be) Another me" (the full version) was premiered on the 'mysterious' webpage www.mplsound.com (see above).

1. "Crimson & Clover" (cover version)

This time Prince is doing a cover and makes it in a truly great Prince-style taking the 60's classic and original by Tommy James & The Shondells to a new level with a fantastic  guitar-driven solo and some shouts of "Wild Thing" (by The Troggs).

2. "Colonized Mind"

Prince's "Beautiful strange" meets Hendrix's "Hey Joe"/"The wind cries Mary"? Another dramatic tune with some interesting lyrics "Upload the master-race idea genetically disposed 2 rule the world", "If u look, u're sure gonna find throughout mankind's history a colonized mind"... "Under which the colonized fall without God, it's just the blind leading the blind"...

3. "Wall of Berlin"

Another fresh rock/guitar song...
incredible guitar and more interesting lyrics - following the 3121-concept.  "Where am I? Universe of paradoxical design Reality merely in the mind In my head or in some German town".. "She is down, like the wall of Berlin... I come round about a quarter to 10...we just met, oh, at least we pretend... it’s so fresh knocking down the wall of Berlin"!
If U'll ever take a trip 2 Berlin - check this out: [Wiki]

4. "4ever"

A classical and catchy Prince ballad not to far away from songs like "Last december", "Everywhere" with some "Dolphin" and "
She gave her angels"? Can U here (imagine!) Wendy + Lisa in the background?! "4ever" was mentioned in a Prince interview / USA Today article from 09/25/2008 (along with "Boom", "Dreamer" and "The Divine" - see below).  Could be musically an outtake from "The rainbow Childen" (2001). A fantastic tune!

"Prince’s new album is finished and he’s just looking for a non-record label vessel in which to release it."
Hopefully those trax will be released 2009!

"Boom"

"Dreamer"

"Forever" aka "4ever"

"The Divine"

Prince spoke about new songs in an interview / article from USAToday.com (09/25/2008):

"...Right now, he's cranking newly crafted funk-pop-psychedelic wonders Boom, Forever and Dreamer, an ode to Martin Luther King Jr. inspired by discussions with Dick Gregory. He declines to play The Divine, a song so "mind-blowing" he doubts he'll ever release it. "The minute the harmonies hit, I put it away," he says.On a love song, his voice takes on yearning as he pines for the feel of a lover's lips and the move of her hips. "That's what happens with years of celibacy," says Prince, survivor of two broken marriages. "It all goes into the music." He pauses. "This time, it has to be the right person..."

"Another boy" [3:41]

by BRIA VALENTE

"Here I come" x

Nu tunes from Bria Valente's 4thcoming CD "Elixir" on NPG Records.

Please check out: Dr. Funkenberry's Celeb News

After the Prince / Bria collaboration "Here I come" (from/see under 2007) more possible trax from the announced album "Elixir" appeared, "Another boy" (world premiere on September 17, 2008 on Dr. Funkenberry's and www.kjlhradio.com, also available on Itunes since October 3, 2008) and "Home" (as preview/sample on Dr. Funkenberry's webpage, May 5, 2008). There is stil no tracklist or  released date at all. The three trax are - so far we know - produced (if not also written) Prince.

On December 27, 2008 "Here I come" was 'streamed' (as *.mov- later *.wmv-file with the audio plus some pix of Bria Valente) on the web site www.mplsound.com.

Artist web: www.briavalente.com

"Beggin' woman blues" (live) [6:42] This 'new song' appeared on the CD "Prince: Indigo Nights / Live Sessions" - only available with the book Prince/Randee St. Nicholas "21 Nights" (ISBN: 978-1416554448). The track is written by Prince, Joseph Pleasant, Ben Raleigh, Hilda Taylor because of the interpolations of the songs "Beggin woman" (J. Pleasant), "Three handed woman" (B. Raleigh/H. Taylor). "Beggin' woman blues" is more or less the continuation or second part of Prince's "Satisfied". A blues, not more or less.
"Turn me loose" (LIVE) [2:59]
"Turn me loose" (Studio) [3:14]

UPDATED: 09/28/2008
UPDATED: 10/10/2008

On 25 April 2008, "Prince and The Band" played live on the Tonight Show With Jay Leno to promote his 26 April performance at the Coachella Music and Arts Fesival in Indio, California. He also debuted a new song entitled "Turn me loose". This very fonky uptempo tune recalls in a typical Prince-James Brown-style tracks like "The Work" or "Musicology". The song is NOT identical to the Sly Stone song "Turn me loose" (from "A whole new thing", 1967)!

"You don't really know me you just think you do | it's against the law in 13 states what i'm gonna do to you
oh baby, you got to Turn Me Loose | if you really love me you got to give me what i need | or get your stuff and get cuz i'll just make you bleed, Turn Me Loose!
The board behind your head, about to split in two | whatever's holding up this bed'll be here when I'm through |
oh baby, you got to Turn Me Loose!
if you like these blankets you better throw them on the floor | the weather girl's a friend of mine, cuz when it rains it pours..."

On September 24, 2008 the L.A. based Radio Free 102.3 KJLH (www.kjlhradio.com) start playing 'exclusively' the STUDIO (!) version of "Turn me loose". This version - btw a great fonky tune and in style of "Get on the boat" (from Prince's "3121" album, 2006)  - is now circulating thru the internet.

According 2 Dr. Funkenberry's Celeb News (from 10/04/2008):

"Prince On The Move, Just Not Turning It Loose:
No wishing for Prince’s Turn Me Loose on I-Tunes…or on any format for that matter!
Turn Me Loose was just a leak. The DJ got the cut from Prince’s studio after begging for it after just one listen! He promised not to play it on air, then couldn’t resist.
The song is not included on any cd and was recorded for posterity’s sake and placed in the vault...."

"Adonis and Bathsheba" '86
"Hard to get" '81
"Go" '85
"Big house" '88
"Traffic jam" '84

Some previously unreleased Prince trax are circulating as more or less short samples. The source is a in-house tape for demonstration use only for other artists/record labels to record a Prince-written tune. The titles are well known and recorded between 1981 and 1988.  Some of the lyrics to the song "Everybody wants what they don't got" were printed in the official book "Neo Manifesto" (from 1994). Some trax are from the "Crystal ball II" - 'tracklist' (fan-choice).

"Beautiful fabulous"
"Rub U down"
"The do"
by Martika

The previously unreleased studio outtakes "Beautiful fabulous", "Rub U down" and "The do" are circulating amongst collectors. Written by Prince and not used for Martika's album "Martika's Kitchen" from 1991. A nice add for die-hard fans, but musically in a typical 90's style with explicit lyrics :-)

2007

"PFUnk" [7:36]

retitled
"F.U.N.K"
This previously unreleased song was premiered thru Prince's offical 3121.com webpage as Jam of the Week on November 8, 2007. "PFUnk" was also introduced on Shelby J.'s MySpace.com page (www.myspace.com/shelbyblackgypsy). Watch out 4 Camille, listen close and ...get ready to b PFUnked up (and U may check out www.princefansunited.com).
According 2 the 3121 web the song is now retitled "F.U.N.K" and "is coming 2 iTunes on November 20, 2007".
"Love" (Acoustic) This previously unreleased song was premiered thru Prince's offical 3121.com webpage as Jam of the Week on October 23, 2007. The original version of "Love" was released on Prince's album "3121" in 2006.
"Here I come"
by Bria Valente
This previously unreleased song was premiered thru Prince's offical 3121.com webpage as Jam of the Week on October 12, 2007. The track is feat. Bria Valente (aka Brenda 'Bria' Fuentes) on vocals and is probably written/produced by Prince.
"Here I come" is a smooth and relaxed tune in a typical Prince-production style. Hopefully more material will be released.
UPDATE:
On December 27, 2008 "Here I come" was 'streamed' (as *.mov- later *.wmv-file with the audio plus some pix of Bria Valente) on the web www.mplsound.com.
"A 1,000 hugs and kisses" (live) Prince played the well known unreleased song "A 1000 hugs and kisses" during the piano medley live in concert on August 31, 2007 (21nights in London). According 2 www.3121.com (3121 Spy Report from 08/31/2007): "...Was that a BRAND NEW song during Prince’s solo piano set? He just slipped it in there, everyone quietly listening at first, then singing along on the catchy parts. Folx were feeling it. We hope 2 hear more of this one really soon!"

BUT... this song is from Prince's vault:

"A 1,000 Hugs And Kisses" was recorded with Rosie Gaines and parts of The NPG at Olympic Studios in London, June 1992, on the Diamonds And Pearls tour. The track was shortlisted for the MPLS project and it was later tried out in 1993 by Nona Gaye, which is the circulating version. The song is a restrained and seductive soul number. The arrangement features a rhythm guitar to the fore. An attractive horn riff adorns the chorus and a saxophone solo enters towards the end of the song. Gaye is longing for her lover to come home, offering him a thousand hugs and kisses upon his return, "Lock the door, you better unplug the phone, cause I want to give you a thousand reasons why we need to be alone." Lyrics: [www.dtt-lyrics.com]
"Future Baby Mama" (Album Version) New song to be released on "Planet Earth", slipped out as "bootleg" radio broadcast since the end of June 2007 (a flash file incl. the radio broadcast was shortly included the web www.3121.com).

"Guitar" (Album Version) New song to be released on "Planet Earth", prereleased as free download for VCAST (Verizon Wireless) SongID music phone users in June 2007. This version is different to the download version from February 2, 2007 (see below).

"Somewhere here on earth" This brand new song was premiered live by Prince at his performance on March 10, 2007 at the club 3121 in Las Vegas. "Somewhere here on earth", described as beautiful ballad, is NOT identical to the released song "Here on earth" (from Prince's "One nite alone", 2002). The track is rumoured to be on Prince's next album (the title "Planet Earth" or release date 'Summer 2007' is not confirmed!). Here are some lyrics:
"Know U're out there - I can feel your eyes on me - the same influence and touch - 'cos love is just 2 much,
I know U're ready for me, I can feel your hands on me, I really want U 2 but we're just 2 shy 2 speak,
here on earth - all on earth - I feel as long as U're here on earth".
"All along the watchtower /
 Best of U"
This time Prince is covering the Jimi Hendrix classic "All along the watchtower" and The Foo Fighters "Best of you". According to Howard Stern (www.howardstern.com) Prince sent him two new songs. Both tracks were played exclusivly during his Sirius 100 satellite radio show on January 29, 2007.

On February 4, 2007 Prince played both songs live at his Super Bowl halftime show.

"Guitar" [3:18] "Guitar" is the first nu Prince song in 2007. It was released as exclusive MP3 download on February 2, 2007 (192 kBit/s - price $1.99) through a retail section of Prince's official 3121 Online Magazine (www.3121.com). The track recalls some tunes like "Fury", "Neon telephone" and "I like it there" or some Wendy + Lisa related stuff like "Are you my baby" or "Satisfaction" (U can image W+L singin' the backing vox ;-)

"I love U Baby, but not like I love my guitar...!"

"The song of the heart" [4:35] This brand new Prince song was released on the soundtrack "Happy feet" (October 31, 2006). "The song of the heart" is a swinging mid-tempo tune somewhere between "What do U want me to do?", " U want me", "Strollin'" and the famous B-Side "Girl"... watch out 4 Camille ;-) [more]

"Sunday in the park" [4:28]
by Tamar Davis
Another new Tamar song appeared on her MYSPACE MUSIC (06/25/2006) - "Sunday in the park" is a mid-tempo ballad like "The morning papers" and a typical Prince-tune in arrangement + songwriting! The tune is taken from Tamar's 4thcoming album "Milk & honey" (set for 08/29/2006) and was written by Prince & Tamar!

"Feel better, feel good,
 feel wonderful"

[DEMO*] [1:25]

This new 'work in progress' tune was announced through an NPGMC email and a special webpage* (called "Fresh from the studio") on June 27/28, 2006:

"Fresh from the studio, take a listen 2 a taste of a new demo from Prince, "Feel Better, Feel Good, Feel Wonderful", recorded this past week at Paisley Park. All instruments and vox by Prince. "Holla & shout" [3:49]

"All I want is U" [3:18]

by Tamar Davis

Two brand new Tamar / Prince collaboration to be released on the 4thcoming Tamar Davis album "Milk & honey" (earlier titled as "Beautiful, loved & blessed"):

"Holla & shout" - this mid-tempo song sounds very similar to the En Vogue track "Hold on" (from "Born to sing", 1990). Near the end you can hear some Prince vocals or more or less the spoken words "Holla, holla, holla....holla & shout, beat down 2 it, 2007, 2008, 2009, whatever - stay with it...".

"All I want is U" is probably the B-side of the single "Holla & shout", a piano ballad with some latin elements... recalls the mood of "Hallucination rain" and "The war"!

Both songs are written, composed and produced by Prince and Tamar.

"Fury" (live) [4:25]

This guitar-driven and catchy rock tune war premiered live at Prince's performance at NBC's Saturday Night Live show on February 4, 2006. "Fury" recalls some Jimi Hendrix classics like "Purple haze", "Hey Joe" or "All along the watchtower" combined with Prince's more rock-orientated stuff "Endorphinmachine", "Zannalee" or "The same december".
"Fury"
is expected to be released on Prince's 4thcoming album "3121".

"Beautiful, loved & blessed"

Tamar feat. Prince [5:43]

This brand new song - written by Tamar & Prince, all instruments by Prince - appeared on a promotional CD-single and 12inch vinyl (Radio promo) at the end of January 2006. "Beautiful, loved & blessed" will be included on both 4thcoming album releases by Prince and Tamar. A regular single release is to follow soon. The track will be available as download  from the MUSICOLOGY DOWNLOAD STORE on February 7, 2006!

Tamar full name is Ashley Ta'mar Davis, member (lead vocals) of
the band Angaza.
You can view her [Biography].

Prince is involved in co-production and co-writing on the Tamar's debut CD (rumoured 2 be released in March 2006). Tamar will appear in the latest incarnation of Prince's live band, New Power Generation, and has additionally been tapped to open all of the dates on his 2006 world tour as a solo act.

"
Beautiful, loved & blessed"
is a soulful mid tempo song with a mid-90's-(NPS) production style, with some bits of "Come on" and not to far away from tunes like "Color" (by The Steeles), "Love sign" and the unreleased " A 1000 hugs and kisses" (both with Nona Gaye). Tamar and Prince are sharing the lead vocals.

"Black sweat" [3:11]
(Album Edit)

Another brand new Prince song and cut from Prince's 4thcoming "3121" album! "Black sweat" - produced, arranged and composed by Prince - appeared on a promotional CD-single and 12inch vinyl (Radio promo) at the end of January 2006.  A regular single release is to follow soon (rumoured February 28, 2006). The video premiere take place on 02/02/2006.
The track will be available as download (audio and video!) from the
MUSICOLOGY DOWNLOAD STORE on February 7, 2006!

"Black sweat" recalls some grooves and instrumentation from "Bob George" to "Kiss" over previously club releases from the last years - like "Nothside", "My medallion" or "Sex Me, Sex me not". A fonky tune, sparse arrangements - synthy sound plus Prince's falsetto!

2005

This previously unreleased Prince song (and video) was offered on December 13, 2005 by the MUSICOLOGY STORE. "Te amo corazon" - spanish for 'I love you, [my] heart (or sweetheart)' - is the new Prince single, the CD-single will be released on December 20, 2005, and is taken from the 4thcoming album called "3121".
"Te amo corazon" is another beautiful Prince-ballad (like Sweet baby or And god created woman), very relaxed and with some salsa influence.

The video was filmed in Marrakesh, Morocco and directed by SALMA HAYEK. The clip's co-star is actress MIA MAESTRO. [more]

This remix - still NOT officially released - was produced by Plant Life (www.plant-life.net) and has been aired by radio KCRW (see playlist screenshot!).

2004

"Glass cutter (demo)" [4:39]

This unreleased tune was offered as streaming audio file in the GLAM SLAM VIP room 4 members of the NPGMC on 10/30/2004. Announced by the club - "Time 2 Jam in Glam Slam! 2 Jams spinning all weekend." - this tune was 'released' along with the instrumental "San Jose Jam" (recorded live at the San Jose soundcheck). "Glass cutter" is a fonky jam with "all instruments + vocals by PRINCE - recorded at Paisley Park in 2004." Finally this song was "released" as download thru the NPGMC's Musicology store (on April 5, 2005).

"San Jose Jam (live)" [7:44]

This unreleased tune was offered as streaming audio file in the GLAM SLAM VIP room 4 members of the NPGMC on 10/30/2004. Announced by the club - "Time 2 Jam in Glam Slam! 2 Jams spinning all weekend." - this tune was 'released' along with the new song "Glass cutter (demo)". "San Jose Jam" is an fonky instrumental (based on "D.M.S.R.") and was recorded live at the San Jose soundcheck in June 2004.

"Silver tongue (demo)" [4:56]

This previously unreleased Prince song was offered on July 14, 2004 by the MUSICOLOGY STORE. "Silver tongue" was announced as "the virtual B-Side 2 "Call my name" [with] lyrics by Nikka Costa and Music by Prince". This "demo" is another 'piano + vocal' performance that would fit perfectly on the studio album "One Nite Alone" from 2002. "Silver tongue" recalls the motive of songs like "Condition of the heart" (from "Parade", 1985) and "U're gonna c me" or "One nite alone" (both from "One nite alone", 2002).

"The United States of Division" [6:18]

This previously unreleased Prince song was offered on July 4, 2004 [America's independence day!] by the MUSICOLOGY STORE. "The United States of Division" is a playfull and fonky joint - announced as virtual B-side to "Cinnamon girl" - this tune is a political statement and musically somewhere between "The Exodus has begun" (from The NPG's "Exodus", 1995) and "Judas smile" or "The Daisy chain".

"Black sweat" [0:00]

Prince performed live a new song called "Black sweat" on June 25, 2004 at the Chicago concert. The earlier rumoured title "Workin'" - based on the chorus "I'm workin' - workin' up a black sweat..." is wrong. "Black sweat" was announced by PaisleyPark9 (N.E.W.S. forum of the NPGMC) on June 26, 2004:
Dateline - Chicago June 25: The new jam featured in the acoustic set is titled: "BLACK SWEAT".

I don't want to take my clothes off | But I do | I don't wanna turn nobody on
Unless it's you | I don't wanna dance too hard | But this is a groove
I'm hot, and I don't care who knows it |I got a job to do

CHORUS:

I'm workin | Workin up a black sweat | I'm workin | Workin up a black sweat
I'm workin | Workin up a .... uh uh!

I don't wanna shake my 'do loose | Unless I do | I dance & I make you lose your mind, baby
Make you act a fool | Hot comb & a bucket of grease | On a brother, on a brother right |
Oh somebody come fix my 'do We're gonna groove tonight

CHORUS | BRIDGE

I don't wanna break your pride | ....but I got to | You better take your woman & hide
'Cuz I'm about to | Show her what's really good | Break her off like you knew I would |
Got a new dance, y'all It's called: "Shake-A-????" | CHORUS

"Purple house" [3:39]
(Prince & Larry Graham)

Prince's coverversion of "Red house" - retitled as "Purple house" - was finally released (May 4, 2004) on the Jimi Hendrix tribute album called "Power of Soul". The album features cover versions of Hendrix songs by various artists like Eric Clapton, Carlos Santana with Living Colour singer Corey Glover, Stevie Ray Vaughan & Double Trouble, Chaka Khan and Sting. You can order the CD, view the tracklist and hear short samples here: The official Jimi Hendrix Store (www.authentichendrix.com).

"Magnificent" [4:30]

This previously unreleased song was offered on April 5, 2004 by the MUSICOLOGY STORE. "Magnificent" is a fonky mid-tempo song somewhere between "Jam of the year", "Pope" or "Wasted kisses". Declared as 'Prince - Reflection Single' (?) on the download page. However simply 'magnificent' - would have been a cool addition to the new album!

"The Dance" [4:41]

This previously unreleased song was included in the collection "The Chocolate Invasion" (available since March 29, 2004 from Prince's MUSICOLOGY STORE). "The Dance" is a mid-tempo tune in style of "Goodbye" or other typical Prince ballads from Emancipation (1996) like "Soul sanctuary", "One kiss at a time" or "The Sun, The Moon And Stars" (from Rave in2 the joy fantastic, 1999). It's likely that the song is from the mid-/late 90's or an outtake from the Emancipation sessions.

"Call my name" [5:16]

According to Sun-Sentinel, People in News from 03/03/2004, article "Prince is Prince again":
[...] He [Prince] says, "There's a new song on the new CD [Musicology] called "Call my name" and the song basically talks about the fact that no one had really said my name for a long time because I changed it." [...]

A short snippet of "Call my name" was played on 03/15/2004 during the Doug Banks Morning Show Radio where Prince also gave a phone interview / talked with Doug, CoCo, AJ and Free. "Call my name" is track No. 5 of the album "Musicology" and contains the following lyrix "Call my name - heard your voice this morning, calling out my name, it had been so long since I heard it, but it didn't really sound quite the same, but it let me know my name, had never really been spoken be4, be4 the day I carried U through the bridal path door, ever since the day i haven't wanted anyone but U, anybody who really knows me knows the truth - I just can't stop writing songs about you...".
This mid-tempo tune is very similar to "West" (from "News", 2003) with lyrics and recalls songs like "I hate U", "Man o' war", "Shhh" or "Beautiful strange".

2003

"What do U want me 2 to?" [3:46]

"What do U want me 2 to?" is a previously unreleased Prince song, offered by The NPG Music Club (Glam Slam VIP room on 11/13/2003) for club members (quality: 96 KBS/44 KHZ). The mid-tempo tune in the mood of "The ballad of Dororthy Parker" or "Reflection" recalls the typical Linn Drum sound (used by Prince in the mid/late 80's), that can be found in material from the album "Sign o' the times" (1987) up to tracks like "Props N' pounds" and "(Jukebox with a) Heartbeat".

"Musicology" [4:24]

"Musicology" is a new and unreleased Prince song, described as funk-tune and not 2 far away from the NPG's New Power Soul material. A video was shot for his 'new single' on Saturday, October 11th 2003 in Los Angeles, CA. "Musicology" is also the name of a room inside the web of NPG Music Club feat. interactive music instruments/samples. The song is - more or less - build around these samples with Prince on lead vox, a fonky tune with the following lyrics (see end of transcription!).
A sneak preview - and lil' world premiere - of the video was shown on The Tavis Smiley Show (02/19/2004) where Prince was interviewed and performed an 'unplugged' version of "Reflection" feat. former Revolution member Wendy Melvoin!

"Sexy Dancer (Xtended)" [8:45]
"Let's work (Xtended)" [8:04]
"Let's go crazy (Xtended)" [7:35]

Available since 11/04/2003 from the NPG Music Club (streaming MP3 files in 96 KBS/44 Khz - in the REFLECTION room!); extended versions of previously released songs from 1979, 1981 and 1983.
According 2 PaisleyPark9 (Site Admin of The NPG Music Club):
"On the xtended version of "Let's Work" Morris Day (of The Time) plays the drums on the second half of the tune (the 4 on the floor house section). He and PRINCE switched LIVE as the tape was rolling during the kickdrum breakdown."

"Life o' the party" [0:00]
"On the couch" [0:00]
"Illusion, Coma, Pimp + Circumstance" [0:00]

During the 'World Tour 2003/2004' Prince premiered/played live some unreleased songs in October 2003 (Australia, Hong Kong and Hawaii). "Life o' the party" is more or less a remake of James Brown's "Hot Pants" (from 1971) with additional lyrics; "On the couch" - somtimes tentatively titled as "(Don't make me) Sleep on the couch" - and finally "Illusion, Coma, Pimp + Circumstance" made it finally on the 4thcoming CD "Musicology" (2004).

"East" [1:07] Sample!

In the room VAULT III (of The NPG Music Club - May 26, 2003) there's a new Prince album called "News" listed!
The tracklist contains four songs (each 14:00 min.) and so far there's a sample of the song "East" (1:07 min./MP3/96 kBit/s) available. The other trax are "North", "West" and "South".
"East" is an instrumental (part) with a loose rhythm, heavy guitars - maybe a jam somewhere between "The ride" and "The war" - but the full song must be discovered! Maybe an experimental journey in the mood of "The Undertaker" jam?

"U want me" [0:00]
"I love U Baby" [0:00]
"Prince and the Band" [0:00]
"Telemarketers blues" [0:00]

All trax were played live during the 'One Nite Alone' Tour (October and November 2002) in Europe and Japan. The title "I love U Baby, like U have never known" is tentative! The lyrics to "U want me" were displayed as 'reading' in the VS-ROOM of The NPG Music Club. The song "Telemarketers Blues" was introduced during the Xenophobia Celebration. The live version of "U want me" was eventually released on the DVD "Prince LIVE at the Aladdin Las Vegas"!

"Reflection" [3:04]

This so far unreleased song was made available since the relaunch of The NPG Music Club (on April 18, 2003). The melody and arrangement is very like "Circle of Amour" (from "The Truth", 1997/98). On May 29, 2003 "Reflection" was offered in lo- and high quality on a special webpage (from the Reflection room). The best version (hi-quality) is in 256 kBit/s!
Prince performed an 'unplugged' version of "Reflection" feat. former Revolution member Wendy Melvoin at The Tavis Smiley Show on February 19, 2004.

2002

"So far so pleased (Remix)" [0:00]

This unreleased remix of the "So far so pleased" (feat. Gwen Stefani of No Doubt, original version released on Prince's album "Rave un2 the joy fantastic", 1999) was played by DJ Dustin at Paisley Park Studios at the Celebration 2002 week. This version could b the so called 'club/dance' remix indented 4 the still unreleased "The Hot X-perience".

"Twisted"
aka "Twister" or "2 heads R better than 1" [0:00]

"Twisted" is a song title from one of Prince's lyric books called 'Beautiful strange'. Therein U'll find the lyrics to the latest (sometimes unreleased or unfinished) tunes. Prince used this book (another lyric book is called 'One nite alone') during the recent tour. "Twisted" - a very jazzyswingin' tune and sometimes wrong titled (after one of the lyric line) "2 heads R better than 1" - is an old song written by Annie Ross and Wardell Grey (recorded by Annie Ross, Joni Mitchell, Bette Midler and others). It has nothing to do with the song "5 heads R better than 1" by The Hornheads (www.bone2bwildmusic.com)! The song was performed live/on soundcheck during the 'One night alone' tour.

"Avalanche" [4:25]

This song - performed live during the 'One night alone' tour - was finally released (studio version) on the latest Prince album "One nite alone" (2002, club-only release). Please see also [COMING UP]

"Xenophobia" [0:00]

This song - performed live during the 'One night alone' tour - is a jazz-flavoured instrumental. "Xenophobia" sounds very similar to the song "Overnight, every night" (released by Eric Leeds on his '91 album "Times Squared" as CD bonus cut) - this track is originally a leftover from the 'Madhouse' sessions, written by Prince, Eric Leeds, Levi Seacer, Jr. and Sheila E.
U can hear a sample of the 'horn-driven' "Xenophobia" by entering The NPG Music Club (background music!). A live version (11:23) was included on "One Nite Alone Live EP". Rumoured to be the title track of the 4thcoming album with the same name - see also [COMING UP]

"U're gonna c me" [5:16]

Available since January 18, 2002 from The NPG Music Club. Finally released (studio version) on the latest Prince album "One nite alone" (2002, club-only release). See also [COMING UP]

"Here on earth" [3:23]

Available since January 18, 2002 from The NPG Music Club. Finally released (studio version) on the latest Prince album "One nite alone" (2002, club-only release). See also [COMING UP]

"One night alone" [3:37]

Available since January 18, 2002 from The NPG Music Club. Finally released (studio version) on the latest Prince album "One nite alone" (2002, club-only release). See also [COMING UP]

"A case of U" [3:30]

Available since January 17, 2002 from The NPG Music Club. This is Prince's studio version of the Joni Mitchel written song "A case of you" from 1972! Finally released (studio version) on the latest Prince album "One nite alone" (2002, club-only release). See also [COMING UP]

Here are the 'original' lyrics:

A Case of You
(JONI MITCHELL)

Just before our love got lost you said
"I am as constant as a northern star"
And I said, "Constant in the darkness
Where's that at?
If you want me I'll be in the bar"

On the back of a cartoon coaster
In the blue TV screen light
I drew a map of Canada
Oh Canada
And I sketched your face on it twice

Oh you are in my blood like holy wine
Oh and you taste so bitter but you taste so sweet
Oh I could drink a case of you
I could drink a case of you darling
Still I'd be on my feet
I'd still be on my feet

Oh I am a lonely painter
I live in a box of paints
I'm frightened by the devil
And I'm drawn to those ones that ain't afraid
I remember that time that you told me, you said
"Love is touching souls"
Surely you touched mine
"Cause part of you pours out of me
In these lines from time to time

Oh you are in my blood like holy wine
And you taste so bitter but you taste so sweet
Oh I could drink a case of you
I could drink a case of you darling
Still I'd be on my feet
I'd still be on my feet [2X]

I met a woman
She had a mouth like yours
She knew your life
She knew your devils and your deeds
And she said
Color "Go to him, stay with him if you can
Oh but be prepared to bleed"
Oh but you are in my blood you're my holy wine
Oh and you taste so bitter but you taste so sweet
Oh I could drink a case of you darling
Still I'd be on my feet
Still I'd be on my feet
I'd still be on my feet

This album title was officially announced at the Celebration 2000 event (voting for the preferred next album Prince should release) - see also [COMING UP]. This studio track was announced over Love4oneanother in January 1999 and is (still) available as short Real Audio sample (1:54 min.) in the section GROOVEZ - Vault of The NPG Music Club!

2001

"Soul Sanctuary" [4:32]
(Early version - Demo)

Previously unreleased studio version from '95 of the Emancipation track (1996). From the sessions with Sandra St. Victor (of Family Stand) - after "Stone", "I'll never b another fool", "Van Gogh" and "Livin' 2 die (our lives)" another tune is circulating in the collectors heaven... [see below].
Beside a little different arrangement (prominent falsetto and drums, less guitar overdubbs) this 'early' version is very similar to the released song. What a beautiful and romantic song!

"Waiting room" [4:27]

(co-written with + released by No Doubt)

Finally the Prince / No Doubt collaboration "Waiting Room" (4:27) was released on December 11, 2001 on the latest No Doubt album "Rock Steady" (Interscope Records, 2001). The track is written by Gwen Stefani, Tony Kanal, Tom Dumont and O(+>!

The story of "Waiting Room" - VH1.com / Interview Feature:

VH1: I heard the song you did with Prince was actually recorded for the last album. What happened? Gwen: Some songs come together really fast. Some you labor over and they come together. Some just don't really come together. For Return of Saturn, we wrote this song called "Waiting Room." That was one of those tracks that was like, "What's wrong with it?" We couldn't figure it out. We did a demo and sent it to him. He generously flew the entire band out to Paisley Park. By the time I got off the plane, his security guard guy was like, 'The Artist wants to speak with you.'

Tony: It was like three years ago, when he was still "The Artist."

Gwen: So, I get him on the phone: 'Oh man, I'm so excited about the track. What do you think?' 'Well Gwen, I had to rewrite it.' 'What? Well, you're the Artist, you do what you want, I guess.' We get there. It's like 11:30 at night. We were exhausted. He played us this track and our mouths were on the floor. It was so amazing. He had recorded the whole thing. He had rewritten it using a lot of the lyrics about my boyfriend that were in the initial song. So Prince is singing about my boyfriend! It would have never fit anywhere into Return of Saturn. But it fits perfectly for this record. We ended up opening it up like three years later when we were mixing in London. We had added keyboards and stuff. I re-sang it because I felt I could do a better job. We like how it turned out.

"(Jukebox with a) Heartbeat" [4:34]

The title of this tune is tentative (or simply "Jukebox"). Available since November 15, 2001 from The NPG Music Club, Ahdio Show No. 9. This catchy track recalls "High" or "Props 'N pounds". "Jukebox wit a heartbeat... if it's pobular it ain't free... do the people even know what they want... if they never have what they need?".

"Vavoom" [4:05]

Premiered / played live at a Paisly Park concert on July 7/8, 2000 (SOURCE: Paisley News, NPGOnlineLtd from July 10, 2000). It was not intended 4 the early version of "High" (unreleased album 2000).
The circulating version is taped by a fan in June 2001 from the Tone E Fly Show (aka Tony Fly - a local DJ in Minneapolis - E-MAIL)- on the MPLS radio stations KDWB 101.3. This unreleased 'world exclusive' Prince song (studio version) is not to far away from "Cream" or "Peach".
On a circulating version of "Vavoom" is a 'dialogue' (from a porno)' - added probably by someone.

Another 'Tony Fly - Prince' connection is the track "Rock N' Roll is alive (and it lives in Minneapolis) - The Tony Fly Mix". This remix of the B-Side of "Gold" (1995) was also a 'KDBW exclusive' - meanwhile bootlegged but still unreleased!

Available since November 15, 2001 from The NPG Music Club. Finally this cool tune find a way out of the vault - VAVOOM!

"Stone" [3:02]
